6-8th grade Religion Extra Effort. DUE DATE: Tuesday NOV. 29.
Create Christmas art based on the Christmas story told in Luke 2:1-20: Mary and Joseph’s journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem, Jesus’ birth in a stable and the announcement by angels to shepherds in the region, who visited the Savior wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.
Draw and color using crayons, markers, glitter or oil paint, water color, pastels, whatever you want.
Use an 8 ½ x 11 sheet of paper.
If you are a sixth grader and want to submit it for the Catholic Voice contest please let me know and I will give you an entry form after I grade it for the extra effort.
Sorry, seventh and eighth graders you cannot enter the contest so you will have to settle for the extra effort.
Geography Awareness Week Postcard Contest
And Extra Effort for Social Studies
Due Date Mon. Nov. 29
All Nebraska Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade students are invited to participate in a postcard contest! The contest is designed to promote Geography Awareness by challenging all students to illustrate a postcard using this year’s Geography Awareness Week theme, “Geography: The Adventure in Your Community”.
Guidelines and Deadlines:
Ø Postcards can be submitted in four divisions:
· PreK–2nd grades (Early Elementary)
· 3rd-5th grades (Upper Elementary)
· 6-8th grades ( Middle)
· 9-12th grades (High)
Ø Artwork must promote geography by incorporating the theme “Geography: The Adventure in Your Community”. Postcards will be judged using the GEON Postcard Contest Grading Rubric.
Ø Only original hand-drawn postcards with no computer generated content will be accepted.
Ø Postcards must be made with a 4” x 6” index card.
Ø The postcard’s address side must show the student’s name, grade, school, teacher’s name, teacher’s email address, school address and school phone number. Entries will not be returned to the artist.
