My name is Steve McCarville and I teach geography and religion for grades 6-8 at Holy Name. This is my third year at HN and I have been in the education profession for over 30 years. I am married to Susan who is a nurse and I have four children and one daughter-in-law.
I grew up in eastern Iowa hence my fascination with the Hawkeyes, Cubs, and Packers. In high school I was involved in FTA, football, wrestling, and plays. In college I was in student government , plays and was a radio announcer.
I have been a wrestling scorekeeper, baseball umpire, softball player, golfer, hunter, and fisherman as an adult. I have quite a lot of experience teaching teachers how to teach geography, have worked for National Geographic, and enjoy travelling. I also have worked with the ADL and Southern Poverty Law Center/Teaching Tolerance. I have worked on several projects with the archdiocese including adult retreats, marriage encounter, father-son retreat, and the men's annual conference. I am a Past Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus and am on the steering committee for That Man is You for St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish. I teach Religious Education at St. James for their PRE division and am also a EMHC.
